How Teenagers can Spread the gospel

11 Effective Ways To Spread the gospel for beginners

Jesus after His resurrection handed over to his disciples the great commission to spread the gospel to all the parts of the Earth. By extension, we have also be given the same great commission (Mark 16:15) and the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18). We are mandated to shine as lights (Matthew 5:14) and preserve the Earth as salts. (Matthew 5:13)

He also did not give a selected few this commission, he gave everyone. You necessarily don’t need any special nudging to share your faith and spread the gospel around you. Jesus has already commanded you to do so already! In Eph 4:11, ministry gifts were given to ‘some’ persons in the body of Christ for the sake of edifying and perfecting the saints for the work of the ministry (Ministry of reconciliation). The office of an Evangelist is a special ministry gift which accompanies more concentrated evangelism and reaching out to the lost. This usually involves city or nationwide crusades, outreaches and programmes. The believer however doesn’t need to be called into the office of an Evangelist before he/she goes out to witness and share the gospel.

Luk 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

For some reasons, teenagers may be shy or timid in spreading the gospel. You don’t need to be shy about your faith in Christ Jesus and you should be always eager to proclaim your love for Him and the message of the good news.

Sharing your faith with others can be done in many different ways. We should all be willing to give an answer to those around us as to the hope we have in Christ (1 Peter 3:15).

I have compiled some creative, effective and straightforward ways to spread Christianity for kids, teenagers and young people to those around you. However, you should not limit yourself to just these suggestions. Feel free to use them as a launching guide to other creative ways of sharing your faith.

 #1. Arm yourself with Tracts

So many persons have seen tracts as an archaic or less ineffective means of spreading the gospel. In my opinion, this is not absolutely true because we have tracts that are general in nature, and also variety of tracts that are situation appropriate. By this I mean you can get tracts that are written for doctors, teachers, business people, waiters and waitresses, various holidays and events, as well as location specific tracts. This is a creative way of approaching people with the good news message and this would appeal more to these categories of people. A Business person will always be interested in reading something business related!

Have tracts with you that you can give out any time you have an opportunity. Try to carry a variety of tracts in your purse or car so that you are ready to give one to those you meet.

Leave tracts in public place like the restaurant and coffee shop or on public transportation. When you return a book to the library you can leave a tract in it. Don’t stuff every book on the shelves with tracts. That can be considered vandalism and poor taste. But putting them in some of the books you return can be a witness to the librarian when the book is processed.

Include Tracts in Correspondence and gift cards.

When writing Christmas or birthday cards to your friends and family, you can include an appropriate tract for the occasion. These work well in sympathy cards if done tastefully with the right tract. You can even include tracts in birthday packages, love feast items, etc.

Effective Ways To Spread Christianity

#2. Always Have a Bible Handy (Pocket Bible)

You are a soldier of Christ! You should always be ready to share your faith with those who may ask. You can get a pocket-sized bible or a small New Testament to carry with you at all times. Glory and thanks to God for advancement in technology. There are many Bible apps on smartphones for various platforms. This ensures you always have a Bible with you.

#3. Share Your Personal Testimony

Always be on the lookout for opportunities to share your testimony and Christian experience with others. One of the most effective witnessing tools you have as a Christian is your own testimony. Telling others how God transformed and changed your life gives them a chance to see that God is real to you and that you want them to have the same relationship with Him that you have. You can also share testimonies of popular Christian leaders around you who had a rough past before they encountered Jesus Christ.

#4. Go Social!

How to spread the gospel online? Share your faith on Twitter and Facebook by including an occasional Bible verse. Use your Whatsapp status, Tiktok, Instagram, etc also. Share with others what that verse means to you and why it is important in your life. You can do this without being “preachy.” This will bring reactions, likes or comments and maybe questions that you will have to attend to. See every medium you have as an avenue and platform to share the gospel! Social media is not just about being social. You should start using it for the course of the Kingdom.

Honestly, even as a Christian I sometimes skim over Bible verses from friends who spam their own social feeds with them. You should include enough other content that the Bible verses fit well with the information you are providing. This will make the verses stand out and give you a chance for further interaction.

You can print or write out your testimony so that you can share a copy with a friend or even strangers if they are in a hurry and can’t wait to hear your talk with them. You may also include a copy of what the Lord has done for you in your annual Christmas letter to your family.

#5. Bible Distribution

There are different Christian organizations that hand out Bibles at special events and to people who volunteer to share copies of the bibles to people who need them. Ask your pastor or church leader if he knows of an opportunity in your area and get access to these grouos.

The story’s told of a Mexican pastor who got saved as a result of a Bible distribution ministry. Someone slipped a copy of John and Romans under his door one afternoon. He read that Bible and sought out the missionary so that he could learn more. That pastor is now involved in a ministry to distribute Bibles in millions of homes in his region of Mexico. Hallelujah!

#6. Share a Movie With a Friend

Have you watched an interesting Christian movie lately? Try watching the movie together instead of giving it to your friend who is not saved or needs some sort of encouragement to watch alone. This gives you a chance to answer any questions as they come up. You also have a shared experience to talk about when other questions arise. If something in the movie applies to a current conversation you can say, “it is kinda like that time so-and-so did this in the movie.” Then you can use that as an opportunity to share more about the Lord and lead them to Christ.

#7. Go on a Mission Trip

You can go on a mission trip within your state or in another state or country if you have the means (finance or sponsoring group). Even if you can’t speak the language well you can show God’s love with those you meet. You can use an interpreter to share the story of why you traveled so far to share Christ with them.

#8.  Show genuine care for Others

Comfort your friends, colleagues and co-workers with God’s love when they go through hard and suffocating times. If you are loving and caring to your friends they will come to you when they have problems. This would be the best avenue to introduce them to the Comforter and Helper, the Holy Spirit. Maybe you have recently read a Bible-based article that speaks to the problem your friend is facing, share the article with them. When they know you care they will gladly accept your offers of help.

#9. Volunteer at Local Shelters

There are many food and homeless shelters around the country which need volunteers. People who come to these shelters are expecting to have the Bible taught to them. This makes them a willing audience to hear you tell about the Lord. Sit down with those around you and share what Christ has done in your life. There is no need to be judgmental. The fact that you are there and offering to help shows them that you have at least a small level of love towards them. In a loving and kind way make a connection and take the opportunity to spread your Christianity.

#10. Start every day with this prayer:

“God, give me an opportunity to share the Gospel today.” God will answer. Look for it!

#11. Wear scriptures/gospel customized dresses.

Who knows! Someone could be drawn to the beautiful design on your shirt, pause to read and then begin to think on the words he has just read and then the Holy Spirit begins to convict him of his sins and push him to ask you for what he can do to get saved and free from the claws of Satan.
