I am a christian but my head is always full of bad thoughts, really negative ones. Please how can I fill my mind with Jesus and clean thoughts?


Dealing with Negative thoughts Biblically

Negative thoughts are a products of reflection things you've accumulated from external sources. It's important you are very careful with the kind of things you allow into your body.

The body has many gates (the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, navel and genitals). Grace is sufficient and available for you to discipline yourself by staying away from dirty and polluting things that can trigger negative thoughts.

Be deliberate about creating a flow of positive thoughts, use this as a guide. Take out time to think and meditate about things that are pure, the best, reputably good, etc. 

Philippians 4:8-9 — Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Set your affection more on Christ. 

Col.3.1 - So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides.
Col.3.2 - Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ--that's where the action is. See things from his perspective.

"Seek the Lord and His strength; seek his presence continually!" - 1 Chronicles 16:11. 

There are many ways to fill your mind with Jesus and clean thoughts. 

  • Attending a Bible believing church
  • Surrounding yourself with godly people,
  • Become active in a ministry
  • Pray fervently for guidance of the Holy Spirit on what things to consume into your body.

But remember, if you earnestly seek Jesus above all else, He will give you peace. Spend time with God. Read scripture to learn about the Lord, and apply it in your life. Look to people you trust to give you advice. Most of all, talk to the Lord like He is right next to you. Tell Him to take away every negative thought in your mind. He is your father, and He yearns to have a relationship with you. He is on your side.
